It’s important to note that the Acropolis is closed on certain holidays, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and Greek Orthodox Easter Sunday.
- Consider purchasing your tickets in advance to prevent huge queues. Tickets may be purchased online or at the box office next to the Acropolis entrance.
- You will only be able to enter the Acropolis at the reserved time or up to 60 minutes later, after this time the Acropolis reserves the right of admission.
- Particularly during prime times, the Acropolis may become overcrowded. Try to visit either early in the morning or late in the day to escape the crowds.
- The Acropolis involves a lot of walking and steep steps, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
- Summers in Athens may be sweltering, so carry lots of water and sunscreen to remain hydrated.
- Being respectful of the site and its history is crucial since the Acropolis is a location with significant historical and cultural value.
- It is forbidden for visitors to touch or climb the ruins. In order to protect the site for future generations, it is crucial that you abide by the guidelines.

The ticket is valid from 15 minutes before to 15 minutes after the selected time. It's important to note that for the last time slot in the afternoon, entry is only valid 30 minutes before closing time.

How to get to the Acropolis

If you are driving, there are several parking options near the Acropolis, but it is recommended to park outside of the city center and take public transportation to avoid traffic and parking difficulties.
